PBPC Research Director to Testify at Hearing on Closing Tax Loopholes

The Pennsylvania House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on what combined reporting and closing corporate tax loopholes would mean for Pennsylvania.

PBPC Research Director Michael Wood will testify at the hearing on legislation to close corporate tax loopholes. Current loopholes in state business tax laws allow some corporations to avoid taxation by shifting profits to foreign subsidiaries.

The hearing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 at the University of Pittsburgh's William Pitt Union Building, Room 548, 3959 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh. It will be co-chaired by Rep. Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, who is the Policy Committee chairman, and Rep. David Levdansky, D-Allegheny/Washington, the House Finance Committee chairman.
