July 14, 2009 - 1:00pm

Groups concerned about the impact of deep service cuts on Pennsylvanians will continue daily rallies in the State Capitol this week to call on lawmakers to resolve the budget by raising additional revenues and tapping budget reserves, in addition to cutting discretionary programs.

On Monday, July 13, 75 people representing dozens of organizations converged on the Capitol to tell lawmakers, "I choose to pay now." Read more about Monday's event.

Participants in this week's rallies are urging lawmakers to vote no on a budget plan that makes steep cuts. They are asking lawmakers to raise new revenues in order to preserve essential services for Pennsylvania families and prevent the state economy from falling deeper into recession.
